ID Rat Monoclonal anti-Mouse CD125 (IL-5Ra) Antibody
Antigen Description CD125 is a 60KDa type I transmembrane protein.  It is the ligand-specific a subunit of the heterodimeric interleukin 5 (IL-5) receptor. The signal-transducing ß subunit of this receptor does not bind to any cytokines and is shared by the receptors for IL-3 and CSF2/GM-CSF.  IL-5 is mainly produced by Th2 cells and elevated IL-5 levels are associated with allergic disorders.  CD125 has also been found to interact with syndecan binding protein (SDCBP or syntenin), leading to the activation of the transcription factor SOX4.  The mouse CD125 is expressed on eosinophils, basophils, and B cells.
