Product Name | Stable Fibroblast Growth Factor-Basic (bFGF) Human Recombinant |
Synonyms | Prostatropin, HBGH-2, HBGF-2, FGF-2, FGF-b. |
Description | Stable Fibroblast Growth Factor-basic (bFGF) Human Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 134 amino acids and fused with 6 x His-Tag and Thioredoxin (TRX) and having a molecular mass of 35.3kDa.The stable FGF-b is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. |
Uniprot Accession Number | P09038 |
Amino Acid Sequence | 134AA (M154-S288) |
Source | Escherichia Coli. |
Physical Appearance and Stability | Lyophilized bFGF, although, stable at room temperature, should be stored desiccated below -20C. Upon reconstitution, bFGF could be stored at 4C for up to 4 weeks, and for future use, below -20C. For long term storage, it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles. |
Formulation and Purity | The protein was lyophilized from a concentrated (7mg/ml) solution in PBS, pH 7.4 and, 300mM NaCl. Greater than 98.0% as determined by SDS-PAGE. |
Application | |
1. | Tested in iPSC culture medium |
2. | Tested in Endothelial Growth Medium |
Solubility | It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Fibroblast Growth Factor Basic in sterile PBS, not less than 100ug/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions. |
Biological Activity | The ED50, calculated by the dose-dependant proliferation of BAF3 cells expressing FGF receptors (measured by 3H-thymidine uptake) is <0.5 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of 2,000,000 Units/mg. It has also been tested in iPSC medium stable bFGF is of > 120hrs half-life. |
Shipping Format and Condition | Lyophilized powder at room temperature. |
Usage Statement | Our products are furnished for LABORATORY RESEARCH USE ONLY. The product may not be used as drugs, agricultural or pesticide products, food additives, or household chemicals. |
